They scurry like street rats looking for scrapes
Scrapes of fresh vegetables smell so pleasant
The zucchini stew was ready to wrap

On to a pan and in to a oven
Heat simmers and awakens the flavors to life
Bubbling and dancing like a witch’s coven
Sizzling a tone as if it is a fife

Out of the oven it’s ready to taste
The textures! The colors! Oh so divine
A meal to enjoy but never in haste
Now that is need a bottle of wine

Ratatouille a stew for the peasant
It would make a good house warming present
